Quote of the week A man with a watch knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure. (Segal's Law)

The days become shorter again. After a not so good summer, we have a not so bad after-summer. This weekend it was extraordinary good weather. Good enough for a walk in the woods. Well, a small green piece of land in the south-west of the Netherlands near Hellevoetsluis. The place is called Quackjeswater. More photo’s in a Web Album
This was a wonderful tour. It was our first time in Asia, and probably not our last. Touring from Bangkok to the north into the Golden Triangle, and then west. And then back to Bangkok with the night-train. It is not the country I knew from old movies when it was called Siam. It is developing rapidly. A lot of the people are poor in terms of belongings, but emotionally they seem very rich. Always a smile, no matter their difficulties. More photo’s in a Web Album
It looks like it. During a short trip, more than half of the time it was raining. That does not mean we had a bad time. Oh no, not at all. Rain also has some sort of beauty.
This was the second edition of the Dutch Elf Fantasy Fair in Arcen. The event is organised in the beautiful gardens of the Arcen Castle. The weather was good, the people enthousiast and friendly. The pictures tell the story.
Antwerp is one of the bigger cities in Belgium. I had the opportunity to stay there for a week, while following a course for my work. It is a city with big contrast, and a lot of the town is undergoing reconstruction. Nevertheless some very nice old places do exist which any photographer should visit. Especially the train station and the old ZOO must not be missed.
During the celebrations of the Queen’s birthday a large presentation was organised for the local emergency teams. Material and people were available from the fire-brigade, a diver’s team, and the ambulance services. We were invited by the Fire-brigade of Rockanje to represent the Brandwondenstichting (a foundation for burn injuries and wounds). During impressive presentations I was able to shoot some interesting pictures.
