Quote of the week A man with a watch knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure. (Segal's Law)

This was a wonderful tour. It was our first time in Asia, and probably not our last. Touring from Bangkok to the north into the Golden Triangle, and then west. And then back to Bangkok with the night-train. It is not the country I knew from old movies when it was called Siam. It is developing rapidly. A lot of the people are poor in terms of belongings, but emotionally they seem very rich. Always a smile, no matter their difficulties. More photo’s in a Web Album
It looks like it. During a short trip, more than half of the time it was raining. That does not mean we had a bad time. Oh no, not at all. Rain also has some sort of beauty.
Since my daughter lives in Spain we have a good excuse to visit this country every now and then. This time we went in February, and I can tell you it was cold, wet and windy. Luckily we have also enjoyed a few warmer days and were able to visit nice places in Portugal like Braga and Guimaraes. If you walk such towns it is as if time stood still. But also contrast; Amazing beauty and incomprehensible rubbish live next to each other. I’ll show you some of the beauty;
We were in a lucky position to celebrate our holidays in a warm and beautiful place. Hotel Stone Palace in Colakli, near Side in Turkey is a not too large resort where you can enjoy the good things of life; clear water in the swimming pool, sun beds, good food and entertainment. To get an impression of the Hotel, and it’s surroundings visit the photo album.
The Netherlands have always been a country of sea, sand, wind and water. In the north there are a few islands which are frequently visited by the Dutch, especially in the summer. However, in autumn it looks much more spectacular. More wind and more water, but maybe a bit cold. Nontheless worth visiting! More photo’s in my gallery …
It seems we are some sort of hooked to Turkey for holidays. This spring we went to Pemar Beach. This is close to Manavgat near Alanya. We had a good time. However, would not recommend this (five
star) resort to our friends. The Hotel offers nothing extra without paying extra. Yet, nice weather, and a beautiful swimming pool made this this a great holiday. We have never been so lazy. Went to bed early every day and slept till late in the morning. The stones on the left are a gift from Michelle (thank you). On the right, you can see my wife trying out a quad on a test-track. However the machine was too heavy for her to handle, so she jumped behind me on the back-seat.
